In April 2025, South Australia will host an exciting AFL Gather Round 2025, with nine games in the Barossa Valley, Adelaide, and Norwood.
This football festival, which runs from Thursday, April 10 to Sunday, April 13, also features the best of South Africa’s regions.
Premiership games will be held at new facilities at Barossa Park
At Lyndoch’s brand-new Barossa Park, the Barossa Valley participates in the Gather Round activity for the first time. The $40 million sports complex, which was constructed in collaboration with the SA Government and the Barossa Council, features more than 42,000 square meters of sports playing grounds, a 350-seat function space, and new parking.
Richmond vs. Fremantle on Sunday and North Melbourne vs. Gold Coast Suns on Saturday afternoon will both feature the finest wine and cuisine from the area at Barossa Park.
“This is a once-in-a-generation investment for our community, and we’re so thrilled to be partnering with the State Government to deliver this landmark tourism and events destination,” stated Bim Lange, the mayor of the Barossa Council.
Festival of Food and Wine on Norwood’s Parade
The City of Norwood, Payneham, and St Peters will once again host the top South African wineries, breweries, and local restaurants at the renowned Norwood Food and Wine Festival on Sunday, adding to the football enjoyment. The Western Bulldogs will play the Brisbane Lions on Saturday, and St Kilda will play the GWS Giants on Sunday. Norwood Oval is ready to host two more games.
The crowded match at Adelaide Oval
Five exciting games will take place at Adelaide Oval once more, including the Adelaide Crows vs. Geelong Cats Thursday night opener and the Port Adelaide vs. Hawthorn encounter on Sunday night. With a variety of Gather Round events throughout the city, including pop-up food and drink vendors and interactive experiences with a football theme, supporters can enjoy the festival vibe in between games.
AFL and club members can purchase tickets for the 2025 Gather Round starting on Tuesday, December 10. General public sales will begin on Wednesday, December 11. Don’t forget to reserve your place for this remarkable four-day football festival throughout South Australia.
