Effective Ways To Resolve Xfinity Router Blinking Orange

In addition, if your router is blinking orange, you need to restart the device; however, if the issue persists, you must reset it. Why Does My Xfinity Router Blinks Orange?

Before we discuss how to resolve the blinking of orange light on Xfinity Routers, it is important that you understand why an orange light blinks on the router. Like other status lights, the orange light states the condition of the router. Blinking of the orange light indicates that the router has internal hardware issues or it has connectivity issues. While such issues can be frustrating, you can follow some effective, yet simple troubleshooting methods to get rid of the issue.

How to Fix the Blinking of Orange Light?

Issues like Xfi gateway blinking orange or Xfinity Router blinking orange usually gets resolved by a mere restart of the device. Yes, follow the below-mentioned steps to perform a restart of your router and see if it fixes the problem:

  1. Turn off the router and disconnect all the cables attached to it, including the power adapter.
  2. If your router is connected to a modem, disconnect the Ethernet cable from both the devices.
  3. Wait for two minutes and then connect all the cables to their respective slots.
  4. Turn on the router and check if the issue is resolved.

In case the above mentioned troubleshooting doesn’t resolve the blinking of orange light on your Xfinity Router, reset the router. To do so, first, locate the router’s reset button. You can locate it at the rear end of the router. All you need to do is press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds and then release it. You will notice that the router’s status lights flicker and the router restarts. This indicates that the reset is done successfully. After the reset, you can do the Xfinity Modem default login by using the default login credentials as mentioned at the back or bottom of the device. For that, you need to open a web browser on your computer and visit the router login page.
