Effective solutions to fix Avast login error

Avast antivirus is one of the most downloaded antivirus programs around the globe. This antivirus is more popular among Windows and Android users. Avast antivirus offers you advanced antivirus programs and other security tools for PC, Mac as well as phone devices. Avast antivirus is a reliable program that keeps the device protected from all threats. But some users face Avast login errors from time to time. The login error on Avast antivirus can appear due to different reasons.

Possible reasons for getting Avast login error:

  1. Your internet is not working
  2. You are entering an unregistered email address
  3. The user is entering the old or wrong password
  4. Avast is unable to access your network

Solutions for fixing Avast login error:

Check the internet connection

You need an internet connection for logging into your Avast Account. If you are getting an error while accessing the Avast antivirus account then check the internet connection. If your internet is slow then wait until it gets stable. Try connecting your device to another network. The connection error can appear when your LAN cable is loose. Eject the LAN cable and insert it properly. If you have connected the device via a router then restart the router and then check for the connection. Once your internet gets stable, open the web browser and try to open Avast antivirus.

Disable Avast antivirus temporarily

Sometimes the Avast setup may get into runtime error which can start showing issues. If you are trying to open an Avast account via the Avast dashboard and getting the error; try disabling it. Disable Avast antivirus for a minute and then restart it. You can disable your Avast antivirus by following the mentioned steps:

  1. Go to the desktop
  2. Hover your mouse cursor to the taskbar
  3. Go to the notification area
  4. Tap on the Avast shields control (Orange icon)
  5. Click on the Diable for 10 minutes option
  6. Avast confirmation window will appear 
  7. Click on the Yes button

Your Avast antivirus will get disabled for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes it will start automatically. Now again open the dashboard of Avast antivirus and try to access your Avast account.

Check the email address

For opening your Avast antivirus, you have to enter an email account. The email must be registered to the Avast account. Sometimes a user accidentally enters the wrong email address while opening an Avast account. This error mainly appears when the user has multiple email accounts. When you get the login error on Avast, check the email address carefully. If you don’t remember then open your email address. Go to the inbox and type Avast on the search bar. If you have received an email from Avast that means you are entering the correct email address. Check your every email account to find the registered one. 

Make sure you are entering the correct password

People often change account passwords regularly. Resetting the password reduces hacking threats. But people forget passwords easily. When you are entering the password, make sure you are not typing the old password. If you are unable to open your account, check the caps lock. Your password error can also occur due to the caps lock. If you don’t remember the password then try to recover your password. Do not enter the wrong password multiple times. It may disable your Avast antivirus temporarily. 

You can follow the given steps to recover your Avast password

  1. Go to a web browser and navigate to the Avast login page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Click on Forgot password option
  4. You will be redirected to the password recovery page
  5. Type your email address (make sure your email address is registered to Avast)
  6. Tap the Continue button
  7. Open the email address which you are registered with Avast
  8. You will receive an email from Avast
  9. Open the email and click on the Reset Password button
  10. Type a new password for Avast

Tap the Continue button and now you can access your Avast antivirus with your new password.

Disable the firewall and VPN

The firewall or VPN can also get the user into login errors. The firewall can sometimes suspect the incoming traffic is dangerous and blocks the network. If you are getting an error in opening an Avast account then disable the firewall on your device and then try to log in. Your VPN tool can also show the login error when you are trying to log in to your Avast account from two different geographical locations. The VPN suspects it is a threat and blocks the network to prevent account hacking. Disable the VPN on your device and then try to log in to your Avast antivirus.

Delete your browser junk

The browser junk like caches, cookies, and history files can interrupt the Avast login. Go to your browser settings page and remove all the caches, history files, and other junk immediately. Now restart your browser and navigate to the Avast website. Click on the login button and enter the Avast credentials. Tap the login button and check whether your open is logged in or not.
