The clinic will offer local pet owners low-cost medical services, such as vaccines, diagnosing ailments, blood work, nail trimming, micro-chipping, flea and tick prevention, and more, according to a news release.
The center will be opened Wednesday for walk-ins between 9 am. to 5 p.m, and will treat cats and dogs. It is sponsored by Pet Best Charities. The clinic is located at the corner of E 188st and Grand Concourse. Phone 908 868 6675
“We have long been looking for an opportunity to assist our community and we’re finally able to provide this opportunity through our Charity to help those needing low-cost services,” said Executive Director Dr. Ehren Yablon in the news release. “We’re always looking for opportunities to remove any hurdles to pet ownership and we pride ourselves on being a community resource. This is another step we are excited to take to further our mission.”
The mobile clinic aims to keep humans and their pets together. The second most common reason pets are surrendered is because of landlord or housing issues. The Care Center offers a landlord health exam, which is intended to show that a pet is in good health and being well taken care of in the hope of reducing tenant issues.
“This is a measure to assist with decreasing the need of surrendering animals, ensuring your pets have long, healthy lives, and assisting with resource opportunities to promote responsible pet ownership,” Yablon said.
