Dhaka,Bangladesh,August 8, 2025 — The China–Bangladesh Friendship Center (CBFC) has elected its new Executive Committee for the 2025–2027 term during its Sixth Annual General Meeting, held virtually via Zoom on Friday evening.
The meeting saw the election of Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu as President and Ms. Chen Qiuhua (Roseanne) as General Secretary. In recognition of their longstanding contributions to bilateral relations, Mr. Mohammad Kamrul Hasan and Mr. Zhong Yanmeng (Jason Zhong) were appointed as Honorary Presidents.
The newly elected committee members are:
President: Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu
Honorary Presidents: Mr. Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Mr. Zhong Yanmeng (Jason Zhong)
General Secretary: Ms. Chen Qiuhua (Roseanne)
Joint Secretaries: Ms. Nipa Das, Mr. Ashiqur Rahman Sarker
Vice Presidents: Mr. Fung Chi Nok (Lenny), Engr. Jahan Md Shah, Dr. MNH Munim, Mr. Mohammed Iqbal Bahar
Organizing Secretary: Md. Shariful Islam
Finance Secretary: Mr. Shaik Niaz Hossain
Secretary for Trade, Commerce and Industry Affairs: Mr. Shamsul Arefeen Shohel
International Affairs Secretary: Mr. Golam Rabbani Raza
Women Affairs Secretary: Ms. Syeda Saika Rosy
Education and Training Secretary: M.G. Shams Khan
Social Welfare Affairs Secretary: Mr. Md Saddam Hossain Roni
Cultural Secretary: Mr. Sheikh Ali Ashraf Faruk
Press and Publicity Secretary: Ms. Tahrima Islam
ICT Affairs Secretary: Mr. Sudipto Roy Akash
Youth Affairs Secretary: Mr. Mohammad Shafiqul Islam
In addition, Ms. Sajeda Sabir has been appointed Program Coordinator and Special Assistant to the President.
The Executive Committee will oversee CBFC’s programs for the next two years, with a focus on strengthening cultural exchanges, promoting mutual understanding, and expanding cooperative initiatives between Bangladesh and China.
