Celebrities love cannabis, too! Some have even started a nursery for cannabis and become part of the industry! Here’s a list of the top cannabis-loving celebrities you should know about:

1. Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi Goldberg is one of the most well-known celebrity advocates for marijuana use. She was a regular pot smoker in her earlier years. As she grew older, however, her recreational marijuana consumption dwindled down but her medicinal use stayed consistent.

2. Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg has been a long-time supporter of cannabis legalization across America and has even contributed money to campaigns that fight against prohibition laws towards the herb in many including California.

He has even started his own cannabis brand called “Leafs by Snoop” which is available at some licensed dispensaries in the state of Colorado.

3. Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson has been a supporter of marijuana legalization since the 1970s. He supports this cause not for recreational use but rather for medicinal purposes as well as industrial uses such as clothing, paper production, and fuel.

He’s also well-known for using organic cannabis hemp seeds to make nutritious food like bread, cheese, salad dressing, and pasta. And let’s not forget about his cannabrand, Willie’s Reserve!

4. Susan Sarandon 

Susan Sarandon is an outspoken supporter of cannabis legalization. She’s also a member of the NORML advisory board and is active in supporting the organization’s goals.

She also goes as far as to suggest that cannabis should be legalized federally!

5. Miley Cyrus 

Miley Cyrus (or rather, Hannah Montana) starred in an episode of Weeds where she played a marijuana dealer with the alias, Mary Jane.

She’s also been photographed rolling her own joints and getting high regularly! Her music videos also contain many cannabis references.

6. Melissa Etheridge

The singer-songwriter, Melissa Etheridge is another celebrity who has publicly proclaimed that she loves marijuana. She’s been a user since 1989 after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although medical marijuana isn’t legal in Louisiana (where she lives), she still uses cannabis oil to treat her arthritis and insomnia.

Melissa Etheridge had a rocky start with cannabis when she first admitted to using marijuana in 2009. However, her experience was that it helped with the treatment of her breast cancer and she has since become one of the many celebrity advocates for medical marijuana use.

7. Woody Harrelson

Woody Harrelson said that his first encounter with cannabis was during his high school days at an American football game where he smoked it from a water bong and enjoyed it immensely! He is now passionate about legalizing the plant for both medical and recreational purposes.

8. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg

Seth Rogen’s Twitter account is a personal favorite among cannabis enthusiasts for its blunt commentary on his use of marijuana, such as this one where he comments “Going outside to smoke weed since I can’t be bothered to do it inside.”

Rogen’s partner in crime, director Evan Goldberg, also admits to regularly using the herb. In an interview with The Huffington Post, he goes up to say that his movies are often inspired by them smoking pot:

“We keep writing notes about how many ideas we come up with while high because they’re good ideas.”

Rihanna has been known to use marijuana on several occasions, particularly at parties or concerts. In 2012, she even admitted to smoking weed every day!

Rihanna has openly admitted to smoking marijuana and even included a song about it in her latest album, “ANTI”. The track is named “Work” and the first verse tells of the singer’s experience trying to score some herb with some friends.

10. Alanis Morissette 

Alanis Morissette battled with clinical depression for many years until she discovered marijuana as an alternative treatment that helped her better manage her mental illness instead of opting for more harmful prescription medications like Zoloft and Prozac which ended up making her feel worse in the long run.

“I was going crazy being on Prozac. One day I said, ‘What am I doing? This is not serving me.'”

She found that cannabis really served her needs and she now uses it to help deal with her anxiety, stress, and depression.

11. Carl Reiner 

Carl Reiner fought against cannabis prohibition during his time as one of the writers for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1969. He has been an active supporter of legalization ever since.

Reiner has had a number of big roles in TV, movies and comedy. His most famous role was as ‘Dick’ on The Dick Van Dyke Show which ran between 1961 to 1966.

12. Alicia Silverstone

Alicia Silverstone is a supporter of the cannabis legalization movement, but only for medical purposes. She’s also been said to be a fan of eating hemp seeds and even created her own line of skincare products that contain THC oil sourced from cannabis.

Silverstone also wants to introduce cannabis products to children as an alternative medicine. She said, “We need to stop with the negative connotations around it and start seeing the benefits.”
