Buying Ravencoin is not particularly difficult. Fees and Forecast. What makes Ravencoin unique? Ravencoin is a fork of bitcoin. It serves as a peer-to-peer platform for transferring digital assets.

What makes Ravencoin special?

Ravencoin is a peer-to-peer (P2P) digital network and blockchain. It is designed to effectively perform a specific function. The transfer of assets from one party to another. Ravencoin is based on a fork of the Bitcoin code.

The project was announced on October 31, 2017, and mining binaries were released on January 3, 2018. A so-called fair launch took place: no premining, ICO or masterminds. The name of the project refers to the television series Game of Thrones.

What is special about Ravencoin?

Ravencoin intends to solve existing problems in transferring assets and trading over the blockchain. Previously, if someone from Germany created an asset on the Bitcoin #blockchain, it could be accidentally destroyed if someone spent the coins it was created from. Ravencoin is a fork of the Bitcoin code and differs from it in four key ways …

  • Modified release schedule with a reward of 5,000 RVN per block.
  • Time for block confirmation is reduced to one minute
  • Number of coins is limited to 21 billion; ten times more than BTC
  • Mining algorithm KAWPOW, formerly X16R and X16RV2, respectively, developed to resist centralized mining by ASIC hardware

In the future, Ravencoin plans to expand the protocol to include cryptocurrency exchanges with integrated messaging and voting. RVN coins are designed to be the internal currency of the network and must be tokenized to issue tokenized assets on Ravenchain. The assets can represent anything …

  • Gold or Euros
  • virtual goods and items
  • Project share
  • Shares
  • Securities
  • Air miles

How is the Ravencoin network secured?

Ravencoin is a fork of Bitcoin and is therefore protected by the power of decentralization and mathematics. It uses a proof-of-work mining algorithm called KAWPOW, which replaced its predecessors X16R and X16RV2 on May 6, 2020. This ensures not only security, but also resilience of the ASIC.

The initial X16r algorithm group selected uses 16 different hash algorithms to mine each block. However, the order in which they are used is different for each block and is determined based on the last 8 bytes of the previous block’s hash function. It was felt that the ASIC would not have an advantage over the CPU and GPU if it had to adjust each cycle.

Eventually, however, ASICs were developed for this algorithm as well, and Ravencoin had to switch to a completely different algorithm, KAWPOW. It is a slightly modified version of ProgPow, an evolution of Ethash optimized for mining with graphics cards. Combined with a commitment to fair distribution without prior mining, this is intended to ensure that no single individual or organization has sufficient hash power:

  • Attempt to launch a 51 percent attack
  • Not cause artificial market fluctuations

How many RVN coins are in circulation?

Ravencoin insists on being as honest and open as possible to buy new cryptocurrency. There was no pre-mining, no ICO, and no special coins to reward developers or founders for the project. In the three years since its launch (as of March 2021), 39% of the coins have already been mined. Total issuance is limited to 21 billion coins. The current price of Ravencoin can be found through the exchange and, if necessary, use the popular convert RVN to ETH.

Who created Ravencoin?

Let’s end our overview of cryptocurrencies with the fact that the three creators of Ravencoin stand out from most crypto enthusiasts in that they were all already experienced businessmen and developers before the project started. Bruce Fento is well-known in the crypto world as a board member and executive director of the Bitcoin Foundation from 2015 to 2018. Tron Black is a senior software developer with more than 30 years of experience who has served as CEO at several software companies. Joel Weight is CTO of Overstock.com, a well-known #online retailer.
