Breaking the Stigma: The Benefits of Legalizing Medical Marijuana

Anyone age 21 and older would be allowed to legally purchase legal marijuana. Similar to how alcohol has some minor health benefits if used in moderation. The economic benefits of alcohol production and consumption are undeniable. Despite the fact that abuse of alcohol also frequently results in fatalities and injuries.
What about the financial advantages of legalizing cannabis and marijuana? They have been wrongly depicted in the past as causing homelessness and unemployment because they sap motivation, energy, and drive, turning users into passive addicts. What about the claim that it encourages the use of “harder substances” and is addictive? Let’s simply say that some of those earlier reasons are no longer valid given the economic and health advantages of marijuana.

The crime rates of countries that have already legalized marijuana is significantly lower than the countries that have restrictions against it.
Agriculture:
Starting with the companies and people that cultivate and harvest the crops, agriculture has benefited. Then there is the marketing and delivery to an increasing number of cannabis-related businesses. Even for those who grow the crop over several acres and cultivate it, legalising cannabis cultivation would result in many job prospects.
Racial Discrimination:
Blacks and Latinos are disproportionately affected by marijuana possession arrests. Which contribute to the idea that law enforcement is prejudiced and biassed towards minorities.
Demand:
The public favours this. In the US, more than 45% of people believe that marijuana should be entirely legal.
Safer alternative for Pain Management:
Compared to certain other painkillers, marijuana is a safer option. For managing pain, some patients may choose to use it instead of opioids. Opioids are extremely addictive and are normally not advised for use over a lengthy period of time to manage chronic pain.
Variation in Forms:
Cannabis has health benefits without requiring you to smoke it. Cannabidiol oil (CBD), topical painkillers, edibles, and other non-smoking products are now readily available.
Final Note:
Lastly With marijuana legalised, law enforcement, courts, social services, and prisons won’t be as overburdened. Spending money on social services like education, healthcare, and rehabilitation might be a better use of resources.
