Norton antivirus is a security program that provides various advanced services and tools. All the Norton plans are paid but you can use the trial plan and access the premium services for free. After completing the free trial, you can purchase the Norton antivirus setup reliably. But the user gets the yearly subscription.
After a year, the user has to renew the program. To prevent the license expiry of Norton, auto-renewal is available. If auto-renewal is enabled on the system, your Norton subscription will not expire. The antivirus will be auto-renewed every time and you can use the tool reliably. But when you are not accessing the Norton tools then cancel the auto-billing feature. Otherwise, the subscription will renew and you will get the bill.
Cancelling Norton auto-renewal plan
You should check whether the Norton subscription is under auto-renewal or not. You can check the details on the subscription window. Not all Norton has an auto-renewal plan. If your Norton has the auto-renewal then you should cancel it immediately.
- Open Norton antivirus
- Click on Profile
- Choose the subscription tab
- Norton page will open on a browser
- Click on subscription and go to auto-renewal
- If the status shows not eligible; your Norton setup won’t renew automatically
If the auto-renewal is enabled then toggle the switch. After disabling the auto-renewal, open the subscription page. Users can see the expiry date of their Norton antivirus setup. Now you can easily run all your Norton antivirus tools till expiry. After the Norton license expiry, you can easily remove the setup without any auto-renewal concerns.
Cancel your Norton auto-renewal from the account
When the user doesn’t have the setup on the device, he can use the Norton online account. He can directly access the account on the browser.
- Open Norton website
- Click on My Account
- Provide the details and login to an account
- Open your Norton account
- Go to the Profile
- Select the Subscription page and tap on the plan
- Click on the cancel button and tap on Confirm
Go to your subscription page and it will show the renaming days on the license. Use the premium Norton tool until the given date and then the antivirus license will expire.
Cancel auto-renewed license and get your refund
If you forget to disable the auto-renewal service and the license gets renewed then cancel it. You have to Norton cancel subscription for the refund. Most of the yearly plans of Norton have a refund policy on auto-renewal. However, your plan should be under the condition of a refund. You must cancel the subscription within 15 days of auto-renewal to get the refund. Go to your Norton account and check for the auto-renewal days. If the plan is under a refund policy, cancel the renewed subscription.
- Open Norton account on the browser
- Tap on the Profile page
- Click on Norton subscription
- Tap on the auto-renewed plan
- Click on the cancel button
- You will see a refund wizard
- Choose refund and click on confirm button
The auto-renewed plan on Norton will be cancelled and now it shows the Expired status. Now you can’t use any of the Norton tools on the device. You can check the auto-renewal refund details.
Disable Norton auto-renewal on Android
The paid Norton plans are available for Android devices. You can get the setup from the play store. In case you already have the subscription pin then you can activate it directly. Open the Norton setup and tap on Upgrade. Enter the Key and select Activate. After activating the key, you can easily access all the Norton premium services on the phone. If your Norton plan is under auto-renewal then disable it.
- Open the Play Store
- Choose Payments and Subscription
- Select Subscriptions
- Click on the Norton antivirus
- Select Cancel option
- Tap on the Yes button
Now open Norton antivirus and go to Subscription. Check for the Norton plan expiry date. Run all the tools and services of Norton antivirus. After the Norton expiry, you can renew the plan or remove the setup easily.
Renewing Norton antivirus manually
If your Norton plan doesn’t have auto-renewal and the auto-renewal is disabled then go for manual renewal. After the license expiry, if you want to use Norton then renew the subscription directly. The user doesn’t need a new account or install a new Norton setup. Open your Norton antivirus and check the subscription page. You will see the Renew button next to the Expiry status. Click on Renew and follow the screen. After billing, your Norton plan will be renewed and you can use the tools easily.
