Ukrainian businessman and philanthropist Vadym Novynskyi kicked his namesake charitable foundation into gear when Russia launched its invasion last year.
In the first few months of the war, billions of hryvnia were allocated to various projects organized by the Vadym Novynskyi Foundation. This funding has helped ensure that Ukrainian soldiers have the equipment they need to fight back and overcome Russian aggression and that citizens who have been affected by fighting have what they need to survive: food, medicine, and shelter.
Following the overwhelming success of these initiatives, Novynskyi has recently vowed to deliver more support in the form of a large batch of medical goods to front lines and hot spots throughout the country.
Vadym Novynskyi Promises ‘Extremely Important’ Medical Goods
In a press release published on the Vadym Novynskyi Foundation’s website on Jan. 20, it was announced that “extremely important medical goods” including tourniquets, dressing bandages, surgical plasters, and modular bandages, with a total cost of more than 2.7 million hryvnia (approximately $73,500), will be delivered to Ukraine in the near future.
The press release shared, “They will be transferred as humanitarian aid to the hottest places,” in a move that will fulfill the terms of the first contract negotiated between the Vadym Novynskyi Foundation and Turkish entrepreneurs following a series of meetings at the end of 2022.
Supporting Ukraine Against All Odds
This promise of further delivery of critical medical goods represents the latest in a series of vital donations made by the Vadym Novynskyi Foundation since February 2022.
More recently, Novynskyi has been working to support the residents of Krasnograd in the Kharkiv region, an area that’s seen heavy fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces. Although Russian invaders haven’t managed to succeed in their attempts to capture Kharkiv, Russian artillery still rains down on cities like Krasnograd on a daily basis, devastating the lives of countless innocent civilians.
Among the items donated to the residents of Krasnograd via the St. Luke of Crimea church were 200 food kits, a stove for a senior citizen, and two electric generators. The church is helping the local population and people who have been forced to leave their homes and find shelter in Krasnograd because of the war.
A New Mobile X-Ray Machine
In addition to providing support directly to civilians through food kits, the Vadym Novynskyi Foundation has been helping prop up Ukraine’s struggling health care system. Novynskyi donated a second mobile X-ray machine to the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery late in 2022, which, according to hospital staff, will make it much easier to provide quality care. “We have repeatedly emphasized that the most important activity of our foundation is the support of domestic medicine,” said a Sept. 19 press release.
Mobile X-ray machines of the type donated by Novynskyi are ideal for assisting doctors in intensive care and surgical departments do their jobs in places where conventional equipment cannot be used. “Thanks to this state-of-the-art device, we have reached the European level of diagnostics for both patients who are undergoing planned treatment and patients who need urgent care,” said Svetlana Fedkiv, head of the institute’s radiology department.
The delivery of this X-ray machine is just one of many examples of the charitable projects currently being operated by the Vadym Novynskyi Foundation despite the dire situation in Ukraine. “The foundation constantly helps our fellow citizens who are in difficult life circumstances — war veterans, retirees, large families,” said spokesperson Dmytro Sergeyev in a press release last year. “Unfortunately, with the advent of the war, many Ukrainian families found themselves in difficult circumstances, so in recent months the foundation has significantly expanded into this area of aid.”
Novynskyi Foundation Is Open to Partnerships
Vadym Novynskyi, who is also providing support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine through his metallurgical enterprise Metinvest Group, is keen to make clear that he remains open to forming new partnerships with businesses operating in key areas.
“The Vadym Novynskyi Charitable Foundation is open to applications from specialized medical institutions, military-civilian administrations, and representatives of military units for the organization of operational supplies of medical goods,” says the foundation’s website.
All details regarding implementing the foundation’s current medical projects will be published on the foundation’s website in due course.
