Final Fantasy XIV is a fantastic MMORPG with many opportunities to make FFXIV Gil, the in-game currency. Whether you’re a new or experienced player, there are plenty of ways to get your hands on some extra gil. Here I will cover some of the best and most efficient methods for farming gil in FFXIV.

Dungeon
Once you find the dungeon’s entrance, you’ll need to clear it out of enemies before opening the treasure chest. Doing this with a full party should take around 10 minutes, and the rewards are worth it. The rewards include 15k–30k gill, and 10k–20k grand company seals, as well as a random item, with a chance of dropping some valuable collectibles. You should be able to make around 38k gill and 24k grand company seals per run, equating to 3.8k gill per minute.

Binding Coil of Bahamut
The most profitable activity is the Binding Coil of Bahamut, coming in at a whopping 4.3k gill per minute. This activity is only available to those with the A Realm Reborn expansion and requires you to be level 50. You’ll need a full party of eight and enough time to clear all five turns, which should take around two hours. The rewards are worth it though, as you’ll be able to make around 500k gill per run, and for a two-hour investment, that equates to 4.3k gill per minute.

Killing mobs
After killing a few mobs, you can expect to get around 10k and 30 astronomy tomes if it is your map or 3k intentimes if it is someone else’s. You can also get occasional loot to roll on from the treasure chest. This gives you the chance to open a portal into the dungeon and your RNG will determine how far you get in the dungeon and thus how much gil you make. You can expect to get straight gill, material and crafting items to sell, and a few jackpot items like the resplendent feathers.

Grand Company sales
You can spam 5k gil per minute by buying items from the Grand Company and reselling them on the Market Board. This is a great option as it involves zero RNG, although if done in excess, it is recommended to spread the GC seals around multiple crafting items.

Extreme Trials
You can spam 7.8k gil per minute by completing the quest Gone to Pieces in all dar to unlock Decency Assist. You are then looking to obtain Demi Mog Demi Material, which is currently averaging 23k gil. RNG will be a factor, but chances are decent of obtaining the demon material once every 10 or so attempts. Other items are generally of little value, though Vanya Silk may get you over 1k a piece.

Hunts
You can expect to get around 11.5k gil per minute by doing rank hunt trains, which are routinely organized multiple times a day by discords. A hunt train of 16 kills lasts about 25 minutes on average and will reward you with 640 sacks of nuts, 480 poetics, 320 astronomy tomes, and 160 causality tomes. You can then trade the nuts with your Grand Company for seals and then into crafting items to sell.

Faux Hollows
This is a weekly mini-game in Idle Shire and you can play it twice a week after beating the current Unreal Trial. You can expect to get around 12k gil per minute. You need 600 Faux Leaves to get an 8 million sale of amount, which will take you 11 weeks to amass.

Eureka
Eureka is also a great way to farm gil, although it is difficult to categorically recommend due to lack of consistency.

In summary, there are many ways to farm gil in FFXIV and it’s up to you to decide which one is the best for you. Whether you prefer low RNG methods like hunts or high RNG methods like Eureka, there is a method for everyone.
