Nagpur’s own Atharva Deshpande is making waves in the Marathi film industry, stepping into the spotlight as the lead antagonist in the upcoming film Shriyut Non-Maharashtrian. This film tackles critical issues like corruption, exam paper leaks, and the struggles of young job seekers, with Atharva taking on a challenging role that promises to leave a mark.

Atharva’s journey to the big screen began at the College of Engineering Pune (COEP), where he pursued his Bachelor’s in Engineering. While at COEP, he was deeply involved in theatre, earning accolades in prestigious competitions like Firodiya Karandak. His passion for acting was nurtured by his family, with his mother, Swati Deshpande, being a well-known anchor, and his father introducing him to cinema from a young age.

Balancing academic excellence with his love for the arts, Atharva also holds a Master’s degree from Cambridge University in London, where he currently holds a high-ranking position. Despite his professional commitments, his heart has always been in storytelling, a passion that has now brought him back to Marathi cinema.

As Atharva steps into his first major film role, he carries with him the rich cultural legacy of his family and the vibrant theatrical experience from his time at COEP. Shriyut Non-Maharashtrian is just the beginning for this rising star which releases on 9th Sept in cinemas near you .
