An Ant terrarium is a unique take on an ant farm. The terrarium differs from a regular farm in that it provides a more natural habitat for the ants to thrive in. In addition, the ants in the terrarium survive longer than they would on a traditional farm. In the terrarium, the ants consume natural foods that they would consume in the wild.

1st step:

Step one is to cut five 12-inch by 12-inch Plexiglas pieces. To get the best connection, cut sharp corners into the glass so that it aligns together and adheres better when glued. You should use some sort of transparent liquid cement as an adhesive. The water should remain in the box this way. Allowing the box to harden for a day is recommended. After you’ve finished, you should take off all of the Plexiglas coverings.

Step 2: Putting the Pebbles in Place

Now add the first layer. Tiny pebbles should be used for this layer. Put plenty of it so that it covers the bottom and extends up 1-2 millimeters. This layer is critical because it allows water to drain from the soil. If the dirt does not have enough area to drain, bacteria and mold can form, which is extremely damaging to ants. After that, you can move on to the next stage.

Step 3: Apply a Filter Layer

On the upper end of the pebbles, you must now apply a filter layer. This is necessary because there must be a layer between the rocks and the soil. The best method to accomplish this is to use a window screen. This allows water to move through while keeping the soil in place on top. Your ant will also be prevented from creeping into the rocks by the filter.

Step 4: Add a Layer of Soil

After that, it’s necessary to add your soil layer. Because here is where the ants will establish their colony, you must include as far as feasible. Remember that ants prefer uneven surfaces, so build some hills and bumps in the dirt at the top. I used ordinary planting soil for my soil.

Step 5: Planting

After all of the dirt has been added, it’s time to add the plants that your ants will consume. Make sure you know what kind of plants your ant consumes. If you put the wrong ones in, your ants will get hungry since they won’t have anything to eat. Also, make sure you have enough plants to keep your food supply from running out.

Step 6: Close

Now it’s time to add your ants. Cover the roof with some window screen after that. Air and sunlight will still be able to pass through, but the ants will be unable to escape. After that, be sure to water your plants regularly. To avoid destroying the ants’ houses, I recommend using a spray bottle. Experience!
