About Shammi Akhter.I am Shammi Akhter. Age 35. I grew up in Munshiganj since childhood, but my father’s home is Habiganj. I grew up in my maternal grandparents’ house, studied there, and got married at a very young age. I got married when I was in the first year of HSC. We are three sisters, we have no brothers. My father was an expatriate. The responsibility of the entire family was on me. I was a very family girl since childhood. Starting from the market, I used to take care of my brothers and sisters, send them to school, and do all the other responsibilities along with my mother. Even though I don’t have a brother, we never understood that lack. I got married in 2005. I got married to Farhad Ahmed Khan. He is a mechanical engineer. Currently working at Mir Ceramics. After marriage, I continued my studies. After marriage, I completed my masters. I have two sons. One is named Sabed Ahmed Khan and the other is named Zarif Khan. My eldest son is in eighth grade and my youngest son is in first grade. We are a happy family with two sons. I never thought I would get so involved in baking. I have a very beautiful story behind it, how I came to this profession. Today I will share this story with you. Let’s listen carefully. When Corona started in our country, we all became housebound. I started living such a life while staying at home that I felt like I was in an uncomfortable situation. At that time, most of us were leaning towards our mobile phones. I used to watch a lot of cooking on YouTube whenever I got time. Every afternoon, I would try a new recipe for the whole family. I really enjoyed feeding everyone so much that it cannot be explained. After watching YouTube, I started making cakes by watching recipes from many channels. In my early life, I did not have any cake making equipment. Many times, I could not make cakes, let alone flowers, and it was not fun, I have no idea how much I wasted. Then, one day, I learned to make cakes perfectly by watching YouTube. What I did one day was my birthday, so I made a two-pound cake. That day, I invited all the sisters in the house for breakfast at my house in the afternoon. Everyone came to my house in the afternoon and I presented many interesting dishes on the table in front of them. Especially when they ate my cake, everyone praised me so much that it is actually impossible to express it in words. They were saying that my cake turned out like a professional baker’s. Everyone was giving me a lot of inspiration to focus on the cake properly and start working on it. I also started dreaming about it anew. I never like to do anything without learning, I don’t do it now, I didn’t do it before. I always had one thought in my mind, that whatever I do should be perfect, so that there should be no mistake in it, so that no one can find any mistake in my food. That’s what I thought. I suddenly opened a page in my name. And I named the page Shammi’s Kitchen. A sister-in-law of mine ordered a cake for her son from me. The baby was only 6 months old. I repeatedly said that I can’t make it well or design it like that. She told me that you can do it for me in any way you can. What else should I do? Everyone trusted me, so I bravely did the job. And from then on, my cake-selling journey began. From then on, I started researching a lot about where in Dhaka to teach good cake making, which institutions are good. Finally, I found the address of an apu in Mirpur and saw that she had posted to teach cake making. Farzana Sultana apu was the first trainer in my baking life. She was the one who brought me into the cake-making profession. She played a big role in making me this position today. Apu’s recipes, Apu’s working skills, Apu’s ability to explain everything were so good that I was able to master it very well. I would give the biggest contribution to my success today to my husband. If he had not supported me from the beginning of my life, I would not have been able to reach this stage today. In this way, I started learning to work in different places. I started the journey of learning that has no end and is still going on. I am currently a trainee chef at the renowned organization Yes Institute in Bangladesh. My dream is to do something good and create a good position. I have trained many people on baking. They are currently running their own businesses very well. By the grace of God, everyone in the place where I live now knows me by one name. There are many stories behind my establishment and success, many sacrifices, and a lot of hard work. Without hard work, people cannot go far. Every day, I leave at 6:30 in the morning, go to Dhaka for classes, and return home at 5 o’clock. That is the only reason behind all this sacrifice and hardship, to achieve something. I love to achieve and my husband and children support me the most. My two sons, Masha Allah, are so polite that I don’t have to worry about them. They can handle themselves with the support of their father. They want me to go far. I am trying to create a strong position for myself. Alhamdulillah, for everything, maybe that day is not too far away. Everyone please pray for me and thank you very much to those who have read my story today. For more details, contact me on Md Mafidul Islam Sarkar WhatsApp +8801735632338
