A new purchasing and procurement portal for Autodesk CAD software licenses

In cooperation with the American CAD manufacturer Autodesk, the German Pumacy Technologies AG launched the cad.info procurement portal in 2021. The Internet portal cad.info is the central point of contact when it comes to purchasing individual licenses, but also larger purchases of Autodesk CAD software. Autodesk is a global leader in design and make technology, with expertise across architecture, engineering, construction, design, manufacturing, and many other industry domains. European companies, small and large, authorities, but also engineers and architects as well as universities and students can easily start, extend or renew their one- or three-year software subscriptions here. The portfolio includes all three main CAD product lines from Autodesk. AutoCAD® is a computer-aided design (CAD) software that architects, engineers and construction professionals rely on to create precise 2D and 3D drawings. Autodesk Inventor is a 3D CAD modelling software for product and mechanical designers. Fusion 360, the youngest one, is software for 3D CAD, modelling, manufacturing, industrial design, electronics & mechanical engineering. Last, but not least, Autodesk Revit is a little bit more than a CAD program. Revit software is built for Building Information Modelling (BIM), helping professionals design, build, and maintain higher-quality buildings. All products are ordered and transmitted electronically (Electronic Software Distribution / ESD). Companies and organizations with special license requirements can also request individual offers.

The vendor of all offered CAD products is Autodesk, Inc., an American multinational software corporation that makes software products and services for the architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, media, education, and entertainment industries. Autodesk is headquartered in San Rafael, California, and has offices worldwide. In order to establish proximity to the customer, the CAD software is sold through a qualified partner network. Pumacy is one of them.

Pumacy Technologies AG is a leading provider of knowledge and data management solutions. Due to the overall strategy of the software vendor Autodesk, all software procurement is handled by subscriptions. Any perpetual licenses will not be supported. Subscriptions include the same kind of benefits as the maintenance plans in the past, but for term-based subscription licences. When a subscription expires, usually it is not possible to continue accessing to the software software or cloud services. But, there is a main advantage in using CAD software from Autodesk: You can still view and share your projects without an active subscription by using free viewers.

Your subscription can be used in a very flexible manner: If you are a subscriber with single-user access or have a maintenance plan for a stand-alone license, you can use the existing serial numbers to activate and access software on any device you choose, including home devices.

In the coming weeks, the procurement portal is to be expanded to include software portfolios on the subjects of PDM and PLM.

Product Data Management (PDM) stores and manages product-defining, representative and presenting data as a result of product development and makes it available in subsequent phases of the product life cycle. This work is based on an integrated product model. The PDM software is a system for managing design data and engineering processes in one central location.

The topic of PLM goes one step further. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) means the integration of data, processes, business systems and, last but not least, the employees in an extended company with the help of an information management system. The PLM software enables to efficiently and cost-effectively manage this information over the entire life cycle of a product, from brainstorming to design and manufacture to service and disposal.
