A Cornerstone Of The BAYC Universe: Introducing The Mutant Ape Yacht Club

Monkey NFTs have grown in popularity in recent months, with many people now collecting and selling them. There are numerous reasons for this, including the fact that they are adorable and enjoyable to collect. You can also exchange monkey nft price for other items such as crypto cats or digital art. A bored monkey is one of the most expensive nft monkey art.
One of the most well-known NFT collections is the Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC). MAYC NFTs are almost as well-known as their Bored Ape ancestors, and they also have the added benefit of being sdirectly linked to the huge universe that Yuga Labs is building.
Even though MAYC is getting more and more popular, many fans don’t know where it came from or what it means. Even though Mutant Apes are a subgroup of Yuga, their unique traits are often forgotten in the history of the NFT.
Why did people find out about mutant apes for the first time? In what ways have they become more valuable along with the Bored Apes? MAYC NFTs can be used for more than just making money. We think that this manual will help BAYC’s historical records be more clear and complete.
What is the Mutant Ape Yacht Club all about?
The Mutant Ape Yacht Club began on August 28, 2021, after 20,000 NFTs with a Mutant Ape design were built. As the second addition to the Bored Apes habitat, MAYC was made so that new collectors could join the BAYC environment. Since it began, the collection has become more and more popular, and it is now the most popular PFP NFT collection on the market.
Before MAYC, there were only two clubs: the Bored Ape Kennel Club, which started in April 2021, and the BAYC (established in June 2021). As the PFP (profile picture) NFT market grew in the summer of 2021, developers looked for new and creative ways to get their avatars out there. Yuga got noticed when it used new and creative ways to give MAYC.
The technique says that each NFT in the collection was made by giving a vial of Mutant Serum to a modern Bored Ape at Yuga Labs. Each NFT is based on one that Bored Ape made first.
In essence, owners of Bored Apes could use a smart contract to link their unique NFT to a Serum NFT (more on these later). This method basically gets rid of the Serum token and makes a new NFT based on the original Ape that is inspired by mutants. It keeps running even after most of the Mutants have been saved. All of this was done without changing the core ideas of the NFT.
The remaining 20,000 NFTs from the MAYC collection were sold at a Dutch auction where the opening bid is high and gets lower until the winning bid. The auction started at 3 ETH, which was about $10,000 at the time. It was set to end at 0.01 ETH. After all of the Mutant Apes were made, the auction lasted about an hour and ended with a final price of about 2.79 ETH. Less than nine hours went by.
How did the Mutant Ape Yacht Club get started?
What was the start of the Mutant Ape Yacht Club? Yuga Labs, which is the parent company of BAYC. Yuga Labs had wanted for a long time to build a media empire based only on NFTs, and the BAYC and MAYC NFTs helped them reach that goal.
Buying NFTs from MAYC
MAYC NFTs and other items from Yuga Labs sold out quickly, as you might expect. The Dutch sale began an hour after the 10,000 Mutant Serum were dropped by plane. At the moment, the only way to get a Mutant Ape is to buy one on one of the most popular NFT markets (OpenSea, LooksRare, Rarible, etc.). Without the serum, a Bored Ape that hasn’t been changed and the serum to change it would cost more than $100,000.
How do serums that stop mutations work?
Those in the Bored Ape gang were the first to get mutant powers when they were dropped from the sky. Every BAYC holder who owned a Bored Ape before the MAYC public Dutch auction got a drop of one Mutant Serum per Bored Ape. The people who owned these serums were told they could change them to make new NFTs or keep them and sell them for money.
Mutant serums are a type of NFT that help mutant apes get bigger. They are part of the Bored Ape Chemistry Club and come in versions M1, M2, and M3 (often called Mega Mutant Serum). Mutant Serums can be bought and sold by anyone, but they can only be used to make Mutant Apes by people who own a Bored Ape.
For each mutant serum, there is a stage of mutation that can be reached by using it. The M1 serums, of which there were at first 7,500, would give the Bored Ape a key layer of mutant traits. Users may see an ape’s fur fall out and their limbs grow back. With M2, there are more noticeable mutations, up to a maximum of 2,492, which can change the look of the Bored Ape drastically or even completely.
Still, whether M1 or M2 Serums are used, most mutant phenotypes still have many of the basic Ape traits. When an ape puts on a party hat, it changes. It doesn’t disappear. The same is true for other things, like the way a person looks, the color of their fur, their clothes, and other accessories. In fact, it’s almost like a hallucinogen.
When Mega Mutant Serums are used, on the other hand, they will change the Bored Ape in a big way. When M3 Serum is put on an ape, it changes into a Mega Mutant. Mega Mutants like these are almost never seen. Mega Mutant NFTs and serums usually sell for millions of dollars, but there have only been eight M3 serums made.
How ape NFT mutations came about?
Because Mutant Apes are so important to the ecosystems of Bored Ape and Yuga Labs, it’s not hard to see why these NFTs have become so valuable. Even though there are 20,000 MAYC NFTs, the lowest price has always been more than $20,000 for most of the time the collection has been around.
This wasn’t always the case, of course. MAYC had a hard time getting popular after it came out in August 2021. Until the beginning of 2022, the floor price was between 5 and 7 ETH, which was only a few ETH more than the initial tokens that were sold in a Dutch auction. The Mutant Ape Yacht Club is a unique organization whose value comes not only from its parent company, Yuga Labs, but also from things other than market conditions. It is also a well-known gainer with ties to Yuga Labs.
First, MAYC made it possible for more NFT fans than expected to join the Bored Ape group. Unfortunately, Bored Ape NFTs are still too expensive and out of reach for the average person. On the other hand, Kennel Club NFTs and, later, Mutant Apes have drastically lowered the entry barrier, making it easier for more people to join the sought-after BAYC community.
Mutant Apes may have been more accessible and interesting to people outside of the NFT than Bored Apes. Mutant Apes are used as brand ambassadors by many fashion companies and other businesses. This means that even people who don’t know much about Web3 can feel like they know the MAYC brand.
Putting aside the debate about Yuga Labs and Bored Apes, it’s hard to think of MAYC as anything but a separate, innovative, and now historically important part of the NFT industry. Because of these things, the collection is likely to become very valuable in the coming years.
