4 Things to Clean When You Deep Clean Your House

Date:

Deep cleaning can be a controversial topic. While some people swear by it and do it regularly, others believe it’s unnecessary. Similarly, some love the process of cleaning because they find that it calms them whereas others may dread the day they need to deep clean.

No matter where you fall on the spectrum, you do, in fact, need to deep clean. The problem, however, is that many people don’t know which parts of their house they need to clean during a deep clean, which is why we’ll be walking you through a few things you need to clean when deep cleaning your house.

Your floors

The odds are that you regularly clean your floors. You probably vacuum your carpets and sweep or mop or tiled or hardwood floors. While this does make a big difference, it certainly doesn’t get rid of all the dirt.

A few times a year, you should deep clean your floors. This can be hard to do without the proper equipment, so it’s a good idea to get experts to help. Have a look at companies that offer professional floor cleaning services to see how they can help you.

Your mattresses

People often think that because their mattresses have sheets on, they can’t get dirty. Unfortunately, this isn’t true.

While sheets certainly do help to keep your mattress clean, your mattress itself should also be cleaned every now and then. And yes, this is true even if you have a mattress protector on. How you clean your mattress will depend on what type of mattress you have, so be sure to research it so that you don’t accidentally damage it in the cleaning process. If you want to know about a few mattress cleaning mistakes you should avoid, this post might be able to help.

Your pillows and duvet inners

Speaking of mattresses . . . while you’re at it, you should also wash your pillows and duvet inners. If they are in your guest bedroom or another room that doesn’t get used very often, you can do this once a year, but for pillows and duvets on beds that regularly get slept on, you should do it more often – about two to four times a year.

Some pillows and duvet inners may be machine washable, while others may need to be hand-washed. Just as with mattresses, it will depend on the type of pillow

The insides of your cupboards

You may be under the impression that your cupboard doors keep out dirt and dust, but you’d probably be surprised at just how dirty and dusty the insides of your cupboards can be. To prevent this dirt and dust from piling up, you should clean the insides of your cupboards every time you deep clean your house.

Don’t just do a light dusting – you need to take everything out of the cupboard and give it a good clean. While you’re at it, you might as well take the time to sort through your things and declutter a bit.
