Date:

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a ground fighting and submission hold-based martial art and combat sport. BJJ emphasizes the ability to take an opponent to the ground, dominate them, acquire a dominating position, and use a variety of techniques to force them to submit, such as joint locks or chokeholds.

BJJ was first developed by Carlos, Oswaldo, Gastão Jr., George, and Hélio Gracie.BJJ started gaining more eyes of the people in a short period of time since then many people have learned them but only a few turned out to be good at it. If you want to learn more you can take Brazilian jiu jitsu classes in Townsville, to dive into its history and techniques.

Some of the legendry Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are mentioned below.

Murilo Bustamante:

Murilo Bustamante is a retired Brazilian mixed martial artist and former UFC Middleweight Champion. He was born on July 30, 1966, in Rio de Janeiro. He is the current leader and one of the founding members of the Brazilian Top Team. He’s also competed in PRIDE, reaching the Pride Shockwave 2005 Final, and Yarennoka. Murilo has fought against the best in his division and has a professional MMA record of 15 wins and 8 losses.

Hector Vasquez:

Another fight on this list is Hector Vasquez. Hector is a fighter that was born and raised in Los Angeles and is noted for outshining and outperforming any of his opponents on any given day. It is possible that some people are born with innate abilities and skills. Mr. Vasquez is a major example of someone who has mastered what they are passionate about through time to achieve the excellence required to dominate anyone in what they do. Unluckily his path of becoming a champion was not an easy task for him, he had to suffer from early-life crises. Though all of the hardships he faced he did not stop and has won many championships multiple times.

Hector has also worked with many current MMA champions such as Khabib Nurmagomedov, Claudia Gadelha, Brandon Moreno, and Shevchenko brothers. Brandon Moreno is currently the UFC Champion. Apart from having a successful career as a fighter and a coach he is also a great entrepreneur owning many businesses, one of which is a fitness gym.

Ruben Charles:

Another well-decorated BJJ fighter is Ruben Charles, alternatively known as “Cobrinha.” He is regarded as one of the topmost influential figures in Brazilian Ju-Jitsu. He was awarded as International BJJ Federation World Champion and a 3 times Abu Dhabi Combat Club Champion. Coming from humble beginnings, Rubens was born in the town of Londrina, and his talent was discovered by another legendary BJJ instructor, Fernando Terere. Apart from his fighting career, he is also a very successful instructor who teaches the arts to professionals.

There are many other notable personalities who have mastered BJJ and brought recognition to a fantastic avenue by taking it on the international levels. From time to time, we would be writing more about such athletes so that these champions get the recognition they need.
